PUNNERY. OH MY, THERE WAS SO MUCH PUNNERY.

last weekend, i was doodling away with FREDRICK EDEN, JESS TOWNSON, EILEEN KWAN, FAY BROWN and BEN HENDY. it was pretty rad.

so with that whole christmas thing round the corner, i guess it's probably SEASONAL BLOG DUMP TIME.





so as part of our efforts to make the green to cover the degree show, our year set up shop for the last week of term. folk made a whole ton of funky festive themed stuff. one of the things we put together was an advencalendar. ok, so we didn't choose the most time effective way to put it together, but it ended up looking pretty tight! not to mention all the artwork everyone did. here's my offering:

RELEVANT NEWS TIME!

so yeah, i was at the LFCC this weekend for the launch of the SPIRIT OF HOPE ANTHOLOGY which jordan and i did a piece for. the book's been put together by the good folk at the comic book alliance- all profits are going to new harvest and the NZ red cross to help the victims of the japanese/new zealand earth quakes.


i also got a chance to play photographer which was pretty goddamn cool. the cba wanted some photos of the famous types with the book for promotional purposes;



yes.

and today's going to be all about licking the poster because something needs to be done about all those eggs in the air...

kudos to miss griffiths who, as of last saturday, vanquished her german and french degree at oxford. we celebrated by drinking a lot of shit champagne. it was well classy.

as part of the end of the year/we're bulldozing the shit out of your campus celebrations, the powers that be granted us leave to run riot through cat hill armed with all manner of things that make marks. holy shit. it was so, so great watching people just go to town on the place.

COLOUR! holy freaking crap, that sure is something that's been lacking from the last few posts. this may be old, old news, but it nicely coincides with me getting back into colouring. in an ideal world, i'm going to try and use the TIME (srsly, we don't go back till october. that crack is waaaaaaack) we've got off to get down with the digital/traditional painting. uh... that is when i'm not comic-booking my ass off.

invite for one of my old man's work shindigs. ah, work through nepotism... one day i will learn how to properly work photoshop gradients into colouring.

also, whoever it was that told you to never ever letter by hand was a fucking douch.

and once again, it's birthday time. god damn, too many people are born in november. how fantastically un-chic am i to also be celebrating mine tomorrow?

a friend of ours is off to the ukraine for the year to max out her russian skills. we figured the least we could do was make her a bon voyage card.

wow, is it me or does this borrow rather heavily from the covers for the scott pilgrim books? also, ukraine is most defiantly NOT soviet russia, so what's up with the color scheme/bears?
