and here's the final thing. i adjusted the colors on those terrible, terrible planes and slapped on a layer of texture so hopefully it's looking a little better.

now that means i'm free to concentrate  all my cringing at that wonderful typography!

work in progess- concept art for the locklear film. not really used to working with such an emphasis on... graphic design for lack of a better word. also, those planes don't really sit too comfortably with the backdrop.  possibly break them down into more basic shapes? bah, i don't know, i'm just thinking aloud.

boss man wants to try and throw some text in there and create a greater sense of speed in the foreground.

speed lines= speed?

ideas tossed around for some more concept art. this time boss man wanted something to capture the flavor of a screen play he's currently working on based on the life and times of ormer locklear.

uh, who?

locklear was a stunt flyer during and after WWI. during his time in service, pilots would sometimes have to 'wing walk' to perform repairs on their air craft.

pretty hair raising stuff, no?

anyhoo, locklear carried this practice on into the movie industry when he became a stunt man and performed all sorts of crazy ariel shenanigans for the camera. unfortunately, this proved to be the death of him.  during filming, the lighting crew didn't pull a light off him in time, causing the momentarily blinded pilot to crash.
